Wellemeyer Pitches Not-So-Wellemeyer ... Game 4

Ohlendorf (0-0, 0.00) vs. Carpenter (0-0, 0.00)

The Cards looked pretty strong last night in their 7-4 loss. Well, 24 of them did at least. Wellemeyer struggled early on giving up 4 runs in the second and another in the third. Thompson also gave up a 2 run homer.

The Cards offense just didn't click like it did the day before either. It seemed like every time we had a runner on third with less than 2 outs, the only way the run scored was by sac-flys. They got to keep the line moving; when you have runners on third, drive them in with a hit.

Anyway, that's all I really have to say about last nights game. Onto today...

Lineup:
1) Schumaker, 2B
2) Rasmus, CF
3) Pujols, 1B
4) Duncan, LF
5) Ludwick, RF
6) Greene, SS
7) Molina, C
8) Thurston, 3B
9) Carpenter, P

Looks like after one game moving the pitcher back to the 8th spot in the order, TLR decided to go back to conventional.

But the offense isn't what I'm most concerned about. I'm very eager to see how Carpenter will pitch today. Let's go Carp; pitch like 2006 and let's get this team back to .500. I'm confident we will win.

They are just the Pirates after all...

Go Crazy.
