-Enter Stupid Title With Pun Here-

The Cards became the second best team in the National League on Saturday with it's win over the Atlanta Braves. Adam Wainwright finally earned his first win of the spring and Albert Pujols added a game-winning RBI. Even Skip Schumaker had a successful day both at the plate and in the field, still learning his new spot.

We'll start with the pitching staff. For the second day in a row, the Cards did not give up a walk. Wainwright started and pitched five innings. He gave up six hits and only one run, while striking out four. Wainwright had good control most of the game, throwing 67 pitches with 45 going as strikes.

Ryan Franklin followed Wainwright with two scoreless innings and got his third hold of the spring. Josh Kinney closed out the game, working a one-two-three ninth. This was his first save of the spring and he has still not been scored upon.

At the plate, the Redbirds were not very effective, but got just enough to get the win. The Cardinal offense today mustered two runs on eight hits. The first run was driven in by Jason LaRue, which gave The Cards a 1-0 lead. The other run was driven in by Alberto which proved to be the game winner.

Skip Schumaker was 2-3 at the plate and scored one of the two Cardinal runs. This game puts his season batting average at .333. In a more exciting note, Skip fielded seven chances without a problem. Two of the plays were: a diving play to Skip's backhand and a double play which he played both perfectly.

Tomorrow's game: Cards visit World Champion Phillies and Ryan "I-May-Strike-Out-200-Times-But-I-Led-The-League-In-Homers-So-Forget-Pujols-Give-Me-My-MVP" Howard. That's all for today.

Go Cards.
