Cards Can't Phill Up Scoreboard

Man, I'm really starting to reach for these puns. Seems like every day I'm reaching further and further. I might pull a muscle if I don't stretch properly before writing one of these post titles.

Anyway, on to the real stuff - not much to say though. Maybe I'm just not in a talkative mood today. After taking a 2-1 win on Saturday, the Cards were on the other side of that 2-1 score on Sunday against Loserdelphia. The Phiting Fills won in walk off form.

Starter, Kyle Lohse, pitched very well after giving up a solo homer in the first. He settled down and went five innings total giving up that one run. Trever Miller tossed a scoreless frame. The walk off run was scored off of Jess Todd. So don't get too worried, he won't be on the opening day roster. Overall this spring I have been pleasantly surprised with the Redbirds on the hill; both starting and relieving...but especially starting.

Offensively, the Cards could not manufacture much today. They scored one run on a Brenden Ryan pinch-hit single in the seventh. Khalil Greene continued his strong spring with a 2-3 game putting his Grapefruit average at .400.

Cards have got Detroit on Monday will "Timmy Fell Down The" Wellemeyer pitching.

Other than that, I don't really have much else to say. So I'll wrap it up for today. If you have something to say, can think of something I should have said, have any ideas for improving the layout of the site, want to tell me the current time in Moscow, or anything else, I have turned on comments, so just comment it below.

Go Cards.

  1. I like the poll question, nice feature. Are you becoming Chris Berman now? Timmy fell down the well'meyer is also stretching but still funny. Oh, about the Cards...I agree, pitching has been a pleasant surprise so far, hope it continues into the season. How much longer till they cut down to the starting roster?
