Brewers Strong Pitching

Today I was mentioned by a Brewers blogger. While I do appreciate him getting my name out there, I would like to get a chance to respond to what was said. Let me just start with what he said about my NL Central prediction:

"This Cardinals blog [CardsCove] has serious beer goggles on for their team. It kind of reads like this: “If all the stars are properly aligned, Duncan and LaRussa manage to continue making s*** (minus Pujols) into solid ballplayers, and the rest of the division goes sub-.500, the Cardinals will win the division. Wow. We’re all partial to “our” own teams, but this takes the cake."
I guess the most ironic part is what the blogger said about his own team in the same blog entry:

"The whole “losing CC and Sheets…” thing is annoying. In my eyes, the Brewers are right where they were last May... Replace Sheets with Yo (for all practical purposes) and you’ve got basically the same staff. Plus Braden Looper. Also, everyone’s down on the bullpen. Call me out if I’m wrong, but I think they’ll be really solid."

Is Braden Looper really that big of a plus?
Carpenter = +
Looper = +

They'll be "really solid"? 40% of the rotation are Redbird castoffs. For the Brewers fans that may be reading this, that's 2 out of 5.

And I'm the one with the beer goggles on...I personally prefer to call them "optimism bifocals". I can see normal most of the time until I'm worried about the road ahead. That's when I look through the lower half of the glasses.

And why does everything in Milwaukee (even their analogies) have to be beer related?

Go Crazy.

  2. Haha - I think I should. I'm just sad it's not a Cubs blogger. That's who I'd really enjoy debating with!
