Mixed bag of news today, so let's get the show on the road.
- Cards defeated the Florida Marlins 8-4 behind a strong effort from starter Todd Wellemeyer. Welley went 5 innings scattering 3 hits and giving up only 1 earned run.
- The bullpen also had a strong day today. Royce Ring, Mitchell Boggs, and Chris Perez all combined for 4 innings of work giving up only 1 run on 1 hit, striking out 3 and walking none.
- Joe Mather also had a good day; his was at the plate. He had a double and a 4 RBI game. Pujols went 2-3, although both of hits were classic Pujols singles.
- Cards play the Red Sox tomorrow with Carpenter on the hill. After a stellar first start of the sdpring, he cooled of in his second game.
- Sorry for the short post today. I'll make it up to everyone tomorrow. Things are really busy.
